Global Experience(GE)

Global Experience Learning in universities is designed to provide students with international exposure, cross-cultural competencies, and a global perspective. It enhances their academic, professional, and personal development through various activities, including:

  • Diversity/Global Learning (DGL) – Programs that promote cross-cultural understanding through discussions, collaborative projects, and multicultural engagements. These may include cultural exchange programs, global issue discussions, and inclusive campus initiatives.
  • Global Classroom – Physical, virtual or hybrid (physical + virtual) learning experiences where students collaborate with peers from international institutions. This includes joint courses, online projects, and shared learning platforms facilitated by faculty from different countries.
  • Student Mobility (Inbound/Outbound) – Exchange programs, study-abroad opportunities, and international internships where students can experience different educational systems and cultures. Inbound programs allow international students to study in Malaysia, while outbound programs send Malaysian students abroad.
  • Talks/Conferences/Sharing Sessions – Expert-led discussions, guest lectures, and academic conferences where students engage with global thought leaders, researchers, and industry professionals to broaden their perspectives on global issues.
  • Other Initiatives (e.g., Global Research Collaborations, International Competitions, Cross-Border Community Service) – Opportunities for students to participate in international research projects, innovation challenges, or social impact initiatives, fostering global networking and professional growth.
These initiatives help students develop global awareness, cultural adaptability, and international networking skills, preparing them for careers in an interconnected world.
